Diego Costa has completed
his transfer to Chelsea as a long drawn-out saga finally comes to an end,
and Blues fans were delighted to finally get him through the door.
Costa, 25, was brilliant for Atletico Madrid last season and
helped them win La Liga and reach the Champions League final.
Liverpool were
heavily interested in the Spain striker last summer but he chose to stay in
Madrid for one more season and improved considerably.
He has been linked with a move to Chelsea for months with
many tipping him to be the perfect striker in Jose Mourinho’s system at
Chelsea. The Blues desperately needed a striker of his calibre last season and
paid the ultimate price, finishing third in the Premier League and ending the
season without a trophy.
Costa disappointed in the World Cup with Spain but still
arrives in England with plenty of pedigree after last season’s performances.
