The England Under-21 international is available from
Sporting Lisbon for £4million after Spurs met the release clause in his
contract.
The 20-year-old, who was born in Cheltenham, has lived in Portugal
since he was a child but was unwilling to sign a new deal at Sporting Lisbon
and therefore they have reluctantly agreed to sell the youngster. Dier will
become Spurs' latest summer signing after Ben Davies and Michel Vorm joined
from Swansea.
