According to the DailyStar, Manchester City and Ivory Coast
midfielder Yaya Toure has turned down a mega £40m mega deal to join rivals
Manchester United for the 201415 season.
The 31-year-old, two-time African footballer of the year has
been unhappy lately at the Etihad and publicly criticized the club for not
showing him enough respect despite a remarkable pay rise that came from a
bumper new deal he signed at the start of last season.
The current African footballer of the year helped City to
two premier league titles and an FA Cup triumph in three seasons but he looks
highly unsettled especially after his latest attack on the club for not
celebrating his 31st birthday the way a top player should’ve been celebrated.
According to the DailyStar, Manchester United wanted to
cease the opportunity and lure the big Ivorian to Old Trafford but the player
rejected their approach as he and his agent would rather angle a move to French
side Paris Saint German.
The report claims that the Manchester City star is fed up
with life at the Etihad and even a move back to Barcelona with a huge pay
caught will appeal to him. City have got a lot of options in midfield incase
Toure leaves and recently added Fernando to their arsenal.
