It appears the transfer of Manchester United defender Patrice
Evra to Italian champions Juventus could now be off according to reports
coming from Italy.
Last week, Gianluca Di Marzio said Evra, who had been a long
term target of Juventus outfit, had agreed and signed a contract to join them
on a two-year deal.
However, since the recent departure of former manager
Antonio Conte and appointment of Massimiliano Allegri, Italian newspaper La Repubblica suggests Evra might have had a
change of heart due to the managerial merry-go-round.
Taken from a press conference with Allegri, La Repubblica claims Evra has requested assurances he would
not be left sitting on the bench for new club Juventus as, if that was the
case, he would prefer to stay at Old Trafford.
It is believed that Evra, 33, who only signed a one year
contract extension with Manchester
United in June, is mainly looking to leave England due to family demands.
Interest in the defender has also been shown from Inter
Milan who recently signed Nemanja
Vidic on a free transfer from United as well as French sides Monaco and
PSG.
With the shock departure of title winning manager
Conte, departures and arrivals could be put on hold until Allegri has
spent time with his new squad, something which could pose further problems
for United who are in pursuit of Juventus midfielder Arturo
Vidal.
